Intercession at Sacramento State Capitol

We left from Redding, California early in the morning to arrive at the Sacramento State Capitol by 9:00 AM. After a stop at a Starbucks on the way, we arrived to the parking garage and headed to the Capitol. We had a quick team meeting then we went off in pairs to pray around the perimeter and with other people we may have seen and encountered that the Lord wanted to touch.

The first man my partner, Greg, and I prayed with was Shane. Shane lived in Anderson, California and an image we saw in prayer for him was him running with a huge banner and a crowd behind him running full charge ahead. That the testimonies of his life are milestones to stand upon not just for him, but for others and those he would mentor. We felt he had a heart like David in that he was undignified before the Lord and had given all unto the Lord. After we prayed with him, Shane confirmed what we had seen and also shared that he was with a group as well that he had helped organize to come to the Capitol for “Don’t Mess with Our Kids.” This man of God was such a gift to meet.

After meeting Shane, we encountered two brother-in-laws outside their place of business, Juan and Vlad. They were cooking for a wedding reception and gave us a free taste! Such the kindness of Jesus to give to His children without us asking.

We met Paula who was a homeless woman on the streets and were able to speak her true identity as a daughter, the redemption the Lord wanted for her and her heart and just declare the beauty she is over her. She was so kind and so beautiful! We returned to the Capitol steps after Paula, to meet back up with our group and share what happened during our hour of prayer.

When the event started, we remained in our pairs and were free to pray, intercede, and approach people if we felt the Lord wanted to do something for them. Greg and I prayed for Christine, who had sciatica, pain in her knee and lower back, and she felt the heat of the Presence of God and received healing. Thanks JESUS! We spoke over Mary and prophesied (“called out the gold”) in her life that we could sense three (3) or four (4) options before her and for her to lean into the peace of God like one of those super comfy armchairs that up when you pull the lever. She confirmed what we were hearing and received the peace of the Prince of Peace into her heart. She called us ‘angels’ after praying with her - how sweet!

Julie and Tim were also with Mary and we prayed for them as well. Julie was a teacher and Greg felt she had come with a specific conviction for the event and was carrying legacy, which she confirmed she was there for the children and grandchildren. Tim had cerebral palsy and he also felt the heat of the Presence of God as Greg prayed for him for healing.

The last testimony I would like to share from this day, outside of the pure goodness of God to show up and answer prayers, was Aimee and her son Corbin (not present with her at the event). Aimee was highlighted to me (she stuck out) and I saw a picture of her son, she told me she has two sons. I said it was the younger and she told me his name. I began to speak what I saw over her son’s life that Jesus was showing me, what his call to this generation was, the leadership on his life, and the purity that I felt she had also been contending for for him. Aimee cried as I shared because everything shared was her specific prayers over her son. This is the testimony of God - that we can hear our Father’s Voice, declare it for and over another, and remind His children that He is still speaking to us today!

Hebrews 3:15 “While it is said, ‘Today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’”
